Founded 1753 by John Shenk, Michter’s Distillery (formerly Bomberger’s Distillery) is thought to be the oldest distillery in the US. Over the decades it produced some of Americas most renowned whiskey including AH Hirsch but was closed in 1989 and fell into disrepair. In the 1990s, Joseph J. Magliocco and Richard "Dick" Newman teamed up to resurrect Michter's. Magliocco and Newman began with a simple strategy - to honor the Michter's legacy by producing the best whiskey possible, cost be damned!
