William L Weller 2000 19 Year Old For Sale
William L Weller 2000 is the first release of what would become William Larue Weller. It was distilled in the fall of 1980 when Buffalo Trace was still called the George T. Stagg distillery, it was bottled in 2000 at 19 years old.
This bottle is part for the first line up of the Buffalo Trace Antique collection when it consisted of Eagle Rare 17 year old, Sazerac 18 year old and William L Weller 19 year old. Buffalo Trace's parent company, Sazerac, purchased the Weller brand from United Distillers in 1999, 7 years after they had shut down the distilling operation at the legendary Stitzel-Weller distillery. William L Weller was produced for just 3 years between 2000 and 2003, it was resurrected in 2005 as William Larue Weller and annual releases have varied from between 10 and 15 years but are typically 12.
